Children and Youth classes range in age from babies through high schoolers. Classes are divided up based on the number of children in the different age groups. Teachers use the Shine curriculum from Brethren Press for their teaching materials.
Discipleship 101 – A class for persons considering membership at Oak Grove Church of the Brethren will be offered during the Sunday School hour, beginning September 15. Persons who are already members of the congregation are welcome to join, as well. Contact Pastor Tim for more information.
SALT class – We are a group of college students and early career people who are sharing and learning a closer faith relationship together (SALT). We are relaxed, informal, inclusive, and inviting. Our class is unstructured but Biblically based. We try to take our topics from current events but look at them through a Christian perspective.
Coffee Club – We are largely a group of parents with young children, who share our lives, ages and stages with each other. Our class has a flexible, family format. We are not exclusive, however, and would welcome any and every age!
Friendship class – We begin each class time sharing prayer concerns, and checking in with each other through the week. We have class gatherings regularly to get to know one another even better. We believe that when we know each other better, we love and care about each other more. We also take Bible study very seriously, and use A Guide for Biblical Studies, with Church of the Brethren authors. We love to add new people to the discussion! How about you?
Seekers – Our class is currently studying the Minor Prophets. We are concerned about each person in our class, and share our joys and concerns each week, together. We are also known for having the best snacks in our classroom, and always have the welcome mat at our door. Come, join in!
